Our fillet steaks are wonderfully tender and full of flavour, making them a delicious treat for any occasion. Prepared, cut and trimmed to the highest standard by our butchers, the fillet steak is the ‘a la carte’ of the beef. The steak is virtually fat free and is the most tender steak you will have ever tasted!
SUITABLE FOR HOME FREEZING
Freeze on day of purchase – Store between -18°C to -25ºC.
Freezer shelf life is 4 months from purchase.
Defrost in refrigerator for 8-12 hours before cooking.
Once defrosted store between 0 – 5°C. Use within 24 hours.
Do NOT re-freeze once defrosted.
Remove the steak from its packaging, allow the meat to come to room temperature for 20 minutes, patting dry with kitchen paper.
Heat large frying pan, oil the pan and season steak with a pinch of salt and pepper and place in the pan. Cook the steaks to your liking following the recommended times.
Rare: 1-2 minutes per side, rest for 4 minutes
Medium: 3 minutes per side, rest for 6 minutes
Well Done: 4-5 minutes per side, rest for 6 minute
Remove from the pan and leave to rest in a warm place for the recommended time.
