A prime joint cut from the whole leg of pork. The pork leg joint is a quality, tender cut and is a great option for those looking for a leaner roasting joint. Boned and rolled for ease of carving. We recommend slow cooking this joint. Succulent and rich in flavour, the pork leg joint has just enough fat to ensure moisture during cooking which adds to the melt in the mouth flavour.

    Storage

    SUPPLIED FRESH

    SUITABLE FOR HOME FREEZING

    Freeze on day of purchase – Store between -18°C to -25ºC.

    Freezer shelf life is 4 months from purchase.

    Defrost in refrigerator for 8-12 hours.

    Once defrosted store between 0 – 5°C. Use within 24 hours.

    Do NOT re-freeze once defrosted.

     

    Cooking

    From chilled:

    Preheat oven 200°C, gas mark 6. Place product into oven loosely wrapped in foil. Remove foil for last 30 minutes cooking time for great crackling, using a good dusting of salt. Cooking times will vary and a probe is recommended to ensure product is cooked through.

    THIS PRODUCT MUST BE COOKED THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO CONSUMPTION

    If you have a temperature probe then use it to check fillet of pork joint is above 71°C.

    If 71°C is not reached then cook for further 3 mins and check temperature again. Repeat this process until 71°C is reached.
