ASIAN STICKY BEEF SHORT RIBS RECIPE
Asian Sticky Beef Short Ribs
SERVES 2 to 3
3 Beef Short Ribs
Salt & Pepper to Season
2 Beef Stock Cubes
300ml Hot Water
½ Tin of Tomatoes
1½ tbsp Jaggery or Sugar
1 tbsp Garlic and Ginger Paste
1 tbsp Dark Soy
1½ tsp Chinese Five Spice
2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
1 tsp Chilli Powder
1 tbsp Sweet Soy
Extra Drizzle of Sweet Soy

Step 1: Heat some oil in a large pan on a medium heat.
Step 2: Season the beef short ribs with salt & pepper, place into the pan and fry on a medium heat for 6 to 7 minutes. Turn the beef short ribs occasionally. Ensure to get some colour on ALL sides of the ribs.
Step 3: In a jug, dissolve the beef stock cubes in 300ml of hot water. Add the tomatoes, jaggery (or sugar), garlic & ginger paste, dark soy sauce, Chinese five spice, tomato ketchup, chilli powder and sweet soy sauce. Mix together well in the jug.
Step 4: Place beef short ribs into your slow cooker and pour the sauce over them. Cook on 'High' for a minimum of 4 hours turning the ribs every hour and pouring a drizzle of sweet soy sauce over the ribs every time you turn them.
