 Not bad for the first time!

Having only entered 5 different varieties of homemade sausages in the competition, First timers, Vic Hopkins & Son Family Butchers were very happy to come away with  4 Gold Awards.
A record 310 independent butcher product entries were submitted in the South Wales heat of  Hybu Cig Cymru / Meat Promotion Wales annual awards for butchers.

Graham Titchener, HCC's Marketing Executive, said: "The quality of the South Wales entries are getting better every year. The event showcased an amazing range of creative and innovative products produced by Wales' independent butchers, all designed with the consumer in mind."
Top judges were recruited from all over the UK to sample the speciality sausages, entered from the length and breadth of South Wales at the New Tower Hotel in Swansea.
